Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix was the Los Angeles native born on the 18th November 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed an early aptitude to play sports while in high school at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Her sprinting potential at the time. A mere 10 weeks after the initial time she tried out the sport, she finished 2nd in the 200m race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school having signed a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic gold medal during the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record running 200 meters for 22.18. The year 2005 was the time she became the world's youngest champion in 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007, defeating her longtime Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top 3 throughout her events in the Olympics which took place in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
