Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is a famous Irish actress and model. Following her small debut role as an archaeologist in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989's Elsa Schneider - a Nazi-sympathizing character in A View to a Kill (Bond film, 1985) She went on to play the Nazisympathizing Elsa Schneider. The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody became a model after she was approached by a hopeful photographer. Her career has since evolved into commercial modelling. Doody tried to stay clear of glamour and nude roles, which was a principle she incorporated into her acting. Doody was offered a tiny role in the film Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill after her name was picked by the casting director. Doody was named one of 12 Promising New Actors of 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. At just 18 at the time she acted in the role Doody was and is one of the smallest Bond girl who has appeared in a film. A Prayer for the Dying starring Mickey Rourke also had a performance by Doody, playing IRA Siobhan. Doody played a non-speaking part in the 1987 television film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in his dream. In a Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, she played Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She first appeared in the film Taffin with Pierce Brosnan. Next, she played Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian Nazi-sympathizer and archaeologist opposite Harrison Ford. It also featured Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody has acted alongside three actors who have portrayed James Bond. Doody co-starred in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British mini-series Selling Hitler, which was an inspiration for the book fraud called The Hitler Diaries. Later, she relocated to Hollywood. She was chosen to replace Cybill Shepard in the role of L'Oreal spokesperson and then was later cast alongside Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his agent and girlfriend as Flannery's girlfriend and agent in Major League II. Doody's first appearance on the big screen took place in 2003, when Michael Caine played Doody in an uncredited role. In 2004, she appeared alongside Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She also appeared on Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 booklet on the Holocaust. Doody made an appearance as a character in Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. The Clinic, a medical drama that aired on RTE. The Asphyx was the remake she made in 2011. Pam Jefferson, the character that she played in the comedy series E4's Beaver Falls during its first season, which ran for two seasons. She appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). She received the Almeria film award on 21 November 2018.
