Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick was born in Portland,
Maine, to Janice (Cooke), an accountant as well as William Kendrick, a teacher.
Her older brother is, Michael Cooke Kendrick, who has also acted. She is from
English, Irish, and Scottish descent.For her role in the show "Dinah"
in "High Society" on Broadway, Anna Kendrick was nominated for a Tony
Award (second youngest ever) and she also won a Drama Desk Award, and the Fany
Award (best actress featured in a musical). She won the Drama League Award and
Theatre World Award for her performance. She also had the pleasure of working
alongside the director Scott Ellis and choreographer Susan Stroman at the New
York City Opera House together with Jeremy Irons amongst many more celebrities,
and played the part of "Fredrika" in "A Little Night of
Music".Anna worked-shopped "Jane Eyre" & "The
Little Princess" for Broadway and was a part of the feature film Camp
(2003) with director Todd Graff.Was nominated in 1998's Broadway Tony Award as
Best Actress (Featured Role Musical) for "High Society." Following
the 1991 Tony winner Daisy Eagan, she was the second-youngest nominated. George
Clooney ridiculed her at the NYC Opera House along with choreographer Susan
Stroman. She also appeared in "Jane Eyre" and "The Little
Princess" for Broadway. In 1998, Jason Reitman cast her in Up in the Air.
It was following her performance on Rocket Science (2007). The only actress
from the 'Twilight' Saga to be nominated for an Oscar. In the year 2010, she
was nominated in the second and third installments of the series. (September
2013) She is the only person to have the accomplishment of having appeared on
three major musicals on screen - Into the Woods (2014).
