Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was created in Miami, Florida on the 30th of November 1977. American electro house music producer D.J., and record producer Steve Aoki is his name. Music executive. He's the 3rd child of Chizuru Kobayashi and Rocky Aoki. His father was a former wrestler, and was also instrumental in helping to create the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two older siblings who are sisters Kana, who is often called Grace due to her middle name Grace and brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi). The half-sister of his is Devon Aoki, a model and actress. He was born in Newport Beach, California & graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995. There, he was a player on the varsity badminton team. He then attended UC Santa Barbara, graduating w/ 2 B.A. He graduated with two bachelor's degrees, one in feminist studies and the one in Sociology. In the college years, he made do-it-yourself records & ran underground events from his Biko room in the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. For its use as a venue for concerts, the room became known as The Pickle Patch. He also was involved in student protests at UCSB and was the founding member of a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League chapter on campus. He had already started his own record label in the 20s. It was called Dim Mak named after his idol from childhood Bruce Lee. In March 2010 He dropped I'm in the House, a collaboration w/ the Zuper Blahq-like alter-ego of the Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am. It reached the No. The track reached the position of No. 29 on the U.K. Singles Chart within its first week of it's release. The song later made it onto the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, being among the top 5 on both charts. The song was featured in an episode of MTV's Jersey Shore. It also was featured in Piranha the feature film Piranha and also in the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a May 2010 interview with HitQuarters Lucas Secon, the producer-songwriter confirmed that he and Rivers Cuomo had just worked on one song. The song was named the top-grossing American dance artist by Pollstar in 2012. His collaborations include artists such Afrojack, LMFAO and Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS, Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vici and Fall Out Boy. He is famous for his remixes of artists including Kid Cudi.
