Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, actor and musician, is famous for his sharp-witted and sly role in action films. Together, they've been featured in movies that have grossed more than $2.5 billion USD. Walter Bruce Willis, a West German-born actor, was born in Idar–Obersteinin West Germany on March 19 1955, to Marlene Kassel (from Carneys Point), and David Andrew Willis (from New Jersey), who lived on a base for the military in the United States. His family moved to U.S. soon after he was born. Willis was raised in Penns Grove by his mother who worked for the bank, while his father, a welder, was a factory worker and welder. Willis began to develop an interest for the dramatic arts in high school. He was "discovered" when he was working at a cafe in New York City and then participated in a couple of off-Broadway productions. While bartending one night the bartender was noticed by an acting director who liked his style and wanted bartenders for a tiny film part. After countless auditions Willis was credited with a couple of film appearances, usually uncredited, before landing the role of private investigator "David Addison" alongside sultry Cybill Shepherd in the hit romantic comedy TV series Moonlighting (1985). His humorous and wisecracking P.I. His humorous and wisecracking P.I. is frequently seen as a test run for his role of John McClane, the hardboiled NYC detective in Die Hard (1988), in which Willis fight a group of ruthless international thieves in the top of a Los Angeles skyscraper. He reprised the role of McClane in the follow-up film, Die Hard 2 (1990), set at a snowbound Washington's Dulles International Airport as a group of renegade Special Forces soldiers seek to bring back a corrupt South American general. The success of the film at the box office prompted a further sequel Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995), this time co-starring Samuel L. Jackson as an unrepentant Harlem shop owner who accidentally gets to assist McClane during a terrorist bombing campaign on a scorching day in New York.
