Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis (Greek pronunciation 01 October 1969) was a famous American comedian, actor as well as a musician, writer and comedian. He was a part of the Comedy Central Presents special and hosted his own show Late World with Zach on VH1. Galifianakis has been a star in a number of films which include The Hangover Trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010). The Campaign (2012), Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014) and Masterminds (2016). He has also voiced characters for animated films, including Puss in Boots (2011), The Lego Batman Movie (2017), Missing Link (2019), and Ron's Gone Missing (2021). Galifianakis hosts the Funny or Die website chat show Between Two Ferns. He was the lead actor in the FX series Baskets and was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2017. Zachary Knight Galifianakis, a North Carolina native, was born October 1, 1969 in Wilkesboro. The actor is the father of Mary Frances (nee Cashion), and Harry Galifianakis, a heating oil salesman. His mother is an English-Irish and Scottish as well as his paternal grandparents are Greek immigrants from Crete. He was baptized in his father's Greek Orthodox faith. He is the father of Merritt, his younger sister along with Greg, his older brother. His cousin Nick Galifianakis is a Washington Post cartoonist, and his uncle, Nick Galifianakis is also a politician. Galifianakis was a student at Wilkes Central High School, and later attended North Carolina State University, where he was a communications major. While in college working at a public access station. He taught a waltz course in 1991 and he came into contact with Mary J. Blige. Galifianakis joined Saturday Night Live two weeks after he made his TV debut on Boston Common. Galifianakis claimed that he performed for Saturday Night Live for two weeks and Britney Spears was the host on one of those weeks. Will Ferrell was in part as a bodyguard for her belly button.
