Rachel Anne McAdams

Rachel Anne McAdams was born on the 17th of November 1978 in London, Ontario, Canada, to Sandra Kay (Gale), Nurse and Lance Frederick McAdams who is an auto driver and furniture mover. She is English--, Welsh-, Irishand Scottish. Rachel began acting at thirteen. Already, she was performing in Shakespearean plays at the summer theater camps. Rachel graduated with honors from York University with a BFA in Theater. Following her first appearance in the Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson (1998) In 1998, she starred as a co-star on the Canadian TV show Slings and Arrows (2003) which was a comedy-drama that focused on the trials and travails of the Shakespearean theater group. She received the Gemini award for her performance in 2003.Her performance as Regina George in the hit comedy Mean Girls (2004) instantly brought her to the top of the list of Hollywood's hottest young actresses. After that she was cast alongside Ryan Gosling as the romantic drama adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' bestseller The Notebook (2004). This was a huge hit at the box office and became the most watched romantic drama with a young audience. McAdams had a meeting with Gosling while filming. They began dating until mid-2007. McAdams' next film was the comedy Wedding Crashers (2006), the action thriller Red Eye (2004), as well as the holiday-themed drama The Family Stone ((2005)). McAdams also explored independent film through Married Life (2007) which was premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. It also featured Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper along with Patricia Clarkson. McAdams appeared in The Lucky Ones (2007) and State of Play (2008) in State of Play (2008) and The Lucky Ones (2007), respectively. McAdams also appeared in the film The Time Traveler's Wife(2009) and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's international hit Sherlock Holmes (2009). McAdams was the plucky producer of Morning Glory (2010). She also was the fiancee with a materialistic character Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams returned to romantic drama territory with The Vow (2012), in which she was a co-star with Channing Tatum. McAdams is also in the film with Terrence Malick in To the Wonder (2012) and Noomi Rapace as Passion (2012) in Brian De Palma's film thriller.
